I’m Amanda

I’m Amanda, the director of McClintock Home Eyecare.

I believe passionately that everyone has the right to good vision and Eyecare, whatever their situation or medical condition.

I’ve seen the difference it can make to a person’s quality of life, whether it’s seeing the face of a loved one, improving their ability to read, watch TV, or enjoy activities they may have stopped because of their visual impairment. Good vision has such an impact on mental and emotional wellbeing, it can be literally life-changing for someone that is housebound.

Since I started the business in 2005, I’ve cared for the sight of thousands of patients across Moray and Nairn. My many years of experience in the community mean that I’m trusted by care homes and families of the housebound across the region, renowned for my sensitive professionalism, putting patients at ease and providing excellent service using the latest portable equipment.

It’s so important to me that everyone is treated with respect, dignity and empathy, but I also recognise that it’s vital to connect on a personal level, bring sensitivity, warmth and when appropriate, fun, to what can be a worrying time for some people.

McClintock Home Eyecare is the only optometry practice in Moray that focusses solely on providing domiciliary care to both domestic patients and care home residents.

As a local, independent practitioner, I’m able to respond promptly and efficiently, and I understand the needs of the local community.

Domiciliary Eyecare is such a valuable service, yet many people still don’t know that it’s available, we have to spread the word, so that no-one misses out!
